VINTAGE HUSTLE
When I tell people that my favourite part of my job is processing through our raw materials, they don’t believe me.
‘Picking’ and going through the vintage clothing is what has kept me inspired at my job for over 22 years. When I am at the rag houses processing thought tons of vintage t-shirts, mountains of old sweaters, and bins of ripped bed sheets I am truly in my happy place. Where some people would see garbage or end of life, I see new beginnings and endless possibilities. There is nothing more inspiring, than looking at something and not focusing on what it WAS or what it IS, but focusing and imagining on what it COULD be.
OH , for the record this dress is my best thrift hall this season. For a wamping $11.75 (thank you Value Village), this dress has taken me to 4 holiday parties a Nassau dinner date, and a guest appearance on national television. Best eleven bucks I have ever spent!
If you happen to miss me and my overly vain collie on Cityline check it out here.
